The Budget committee dives further into trying to pass President Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget. Senator Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), once President Obama’s nominee for the Commerce Department, seems to get it when he points out the President’s budget will bankrupt the country.
The Congressional Budget Office has found that President Obama’s budget would generate deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year over the next decade, producing $9.3 trillion worth of red ink over the next ten years, $2.3 trillion more than the White House predicted in its budget.
We have worked with some Senators on possible amendments to offer both in committee and on the floor next week and will keep you updated on the progress. The proposed budget will destroy the American economy and certainly has a lot of room for improvement by reducing it in size, redirecting some of the spending and also out right elimination of many of the redundant and/or ineffective programs.
